Kindle Colorsoft

Colorsoft is what happens when Amazon decides color has to feel like a Kindle, not a Boox. The store, typography, and waterproofing are Paperwhite-grade. The color layer is the usual Kaleido bargain: 150 ppi effective color, a slightly darker page, and book covers that finally look like objects.

Early units had a yellow band; later batches cleaned it up. If 80 percent of what you read is text, Paperwhite is still the better screen. If you live in Kindle Unlimited magazines, comics, and picture books, Colorsoft is the path of least resistance.
